Sunday Sep 10, 2023
Sunday Sep 10, 2023
Welcome to Baka Bitches! We are two 30-somethings who REALLY love to talk about anime while we drink and hang out. We’ll share our opinions, both popular and not, while examining each episode of an anime series. Feel free to watch along with us each week as we dissect the classics and even some new anime titles. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised!
This is where the our comedy takes quite a sharp turn, you guys, so beware there's sensitive topics in this episode. Finally all is unveiled as to why Tsukasa has been so withdrawn and so avoiding any sort of relationship. It begins with Anzu being approached by a woman on the street claiming to be Tsukasa's girlfriend but our girl channels her woman's intuition and calls this girl a sussy baka. Unfortunately this is where Tsukasa walks into the scene and all of his fears stop him in his tracks. Luckily Anzu is there to block this girl from touching Tsukasa and the two of them immediately head home and lock the door. The poor guy then begins telling his very scary story of accidentally interacting with his now stalker by simply trying to do a good deed. This started to go downhill quickly and escalate from her buying him clothes to her drugging him, sneaking into his room and putting a camera in it! This also caused problems between Tsukasa and his jerkface dad. Anzu, being truly a sweetheart comforted our orange-haired boy in his most vulnerable state, solidifying their friendship. It's both a heartbreaking and heartwarming episode. Please, do take caution while listening to this episode.

Having siblings is a complicated matter. You love them but you don't always like them and you certainly butt heads from time to time. Especially as a younger sibling, the struggle can be real. Saki experiences this as her older brother kicks her out of the house while their dad works an overnight shift so he can party with friends. This prompts Saki, Anzu's best friend, to go pay her a visit and discovers the secret of Tsukasa and Junta living with Anzu. Feeling touched by this outcome, Anzu decides that if someone could believe her otome-game-turned-real-life life it would be her best friend. Upon trying to confide in Saki, Anzu is plagued with real bad tummy troubles which is caused from her trying to blurt out her secret. Gross. With an unsuccessful confession still stuffed deep down, Anzu agrees to go to a festival because our sweet baby angel, Junta, wanted to go. The whole group goes and while there, they decide to split up to get food from the different food stalls. During this, we run into familiar faces and some not-so-nice people. The festivals are always prime places for lively events...even for those that don't attend at all.

Oh how one little moment in life can get a snowball of events rolling. This happens to Anzu as she runs into two girls she used to go to school with when she was a kid. Excitedly they all go and have lunch and talk about their "glory" days and catch up with each other. One name from their collective past pops up, "Tonta", a reserved, chubby, shaggy-haired kid who Anzu played lots of video games with. ...Dots start to connect and turns out -plot twist!- that Tonta is actually Juntaaa! He changed drastically after joining the baseball team. Surprised by this, the girls decide to plan a reunion of some other classmates from that time. We get to see all the girls fawn over Junta and...a certain wild card confess their love to Anzu. Was this planned by the mischievous potato? Find out in this episode!

In a big town, it's crazy that Anzu bumps into the amazingly cool, boss babe that is Tsukasa's older sister named Arisa. This silver-haired force-to-be-reckoned-with has decided to pop into town to see how her little bro is doing after finding out he's been living with a teenage girl. Upon sitting down and talking with Anzu and her little brother, Arisa breathes a sigh of relief that he seems to be slipping back into who he was before an incident that caused him to live on his own. Unfortunately we find out that their father is not a very good parental unit. In fact, "ruling with an iron fist" fits the bill for this sad sack. After the approval of the older sister, Tsukasa is permitted to continue living there...and this makes RiRi more frustrated that Anzu won't find a boyfriend. Somehow the chubby Russet convinces Anzu to go on a date by turning into a human boy named Riho. Does this mean more complications for Anzu than she thought possible? Yeah. Without a doubt.

Being hit by a car is kind of problematic; being hit by a car that is owned by a self-absorbed rich kid is even more problematic. Mainly because he will think that you purposely ran in front of his car in order to get something from him like a dank insurance payout or....a date? Our new boy, Hajiri, or as we like to call him, Hairy Cheeks, is now convinced that Anzu did this to get his attention. Naturally insulted, our girl boss shuts him down, leaving Hairy Cheeks in a befuddled state. He's never not had someone falling all over him. Thus he enacts a plan to get Anzu to fall in love with him with bribery. Cats, chocolate, video games, oh my! However, despite an alluring attempt, Anzu rejects him still, making the young richie rich realize you can't buy someone's true feelings, especially when it's with daddy's money. Yaaasss queeeen! So he decided to take on Anzu's challenge and began working for his own money to pay for things that could woo her.....by working at her job with her. What can go wrong?

Anzu finds herself swimming in boyos and that clearly cannot do. In order to escape her new living situation, she gets a part time job at a convenience store. However, that doesn't fully save her from RiRi's plans to get her in a relationship. Tsukasa asks her to go shopping with him because he thinks that her presence will shoo away the oogling eyes of other women because he's just the cutest thing anyone has ever seen. RiRi demands that our curly-red-headed heroine treat this event like an official date otherwise alllll of Anzu's cat-related clothes will disappear. She isn't happy about it but she sorta plays along, even going as far as buying normal, non-cat covered clothes. The "date" is going pretty smoothly overall except for when Anzu must retreat to the lady's room, leaving Tsukasa to stand there being stared at and whispered about by some very aggressive ladies. Apparently baseball caps do not work as invisibility cloaks.
As soon as Anzu gets back, saving Tsukasa from his PTSD episode and they carry on. Tsukasa thanks Anzu by buying a bracelet with a lil cat bead on it. Shocking, I know. All is well that ends well, however.

A grateful Tsukasa thanks Anzu for telling Rena that he doesn't want anything from her, especially not a relationship. With a human-girl RiRi, Junta, Tsukasa and Anzu together, they all end up having a delicious dinner at Anzu's home where RiRi encourages Junta to move in too. Anzu eventually takes her 'cousin' RiRi out of the house to 'grab some ice cream' and by ice cream, she meant that dang wand that RiRi keeps waving around. Victoriously, Anzu is able to ruin the wand by having it land in some dog dookie, making it a useless accessory. The following morning both Anzu and Tsukasa get confronted for walking together to school because that's just absolutely salacious and stuff. Deflecting, the two go about school but soon part ways after the school day is over. Home alone, our girl is bored and can't possibly think of any other hobbies she could learn, she goes to bed early. Awoken suddenly in the night she sees that there's a home intruder..but worse. A panty-sniffer thief is all up in her mom's undies.Angered and armed, Anzu chases this scared, pervy middle-aged man out of her house and down the street, catching Junta in the chaos too. The two of them are able to turn the B&E fool into the police and Junta's mom is basically like "Yah. You two need to live together. Definitely trust my teenage son to be with the teenage girl he likes basically unsupervised so he can..."protect" her."
RiRi basically gets her way and thus makes the household of two turn into three. Poor Anzu...or something.

The mystery man is revealed! A tall, dark, and handsome boy is on Anzu's doorstep claiming to be her childhood friend. Not recognizing him at all from her childhood, Anzu is angry at RiRi for dragging in another innocent soul into this ridiculous scenario. RiRi says that this boy, Junta, is not only from childhood but has always had a major crush on Anzu and in order to get her life back in order, she should just be Junta's girlfriend. However, she's a stubborn girl and refuses to do so.
While that's happening, Rena tries yet again to get close to Tsukasa by way of Anzu, cornering her and trying to pressure her into making Tsukasa meet her. Anzu refuses because she respects his desires to not have a relationship and tells the girls so..as Tsukasa and Junta are around the corner listening in. Both of them falling juuuust a little more for Anzu in their own way.

Anzu awakens to the sweet angel face of a sleeping Tsukasa, making her jump up and act all super casual about it. Assuming the weird scenario was over, the two of them parted ways, attempting to go on with their school day as normal. Unfortunately that is easier said than done since Tsukasa's fanclub found out about the two knowing each other. Two of the girls then demand Anzu help them meet up with our avoidant boy. Tsukasa wasn't having it though and leads Anzu away stating that he doesn't want a relationship and finds girls like that pretty annoying. Lucky for Anzu because she can now develop a platonic relationship with him without the pressure of romance..which is good because now they'll be living together for longer. Poor Tsukasa has to deal with a very flooded apartment and has nowhere else to go.Figuring out their new living situation, Tsukasa becomes food-maker and cake-smasher. Finding this a good deal, Anzu is thrown another RiRi-curveball since the magical potato decides one cute boy just isn't enough. There's a sudden knock on the door one evening of a new mystery man!

We pick up again right where we have left off, Anzu taking shelter at a kid's playground after being run out of her home by a piece of cake (cockroach to the undisturbed) she yet again runs into Tsukasa who is on his way home. Being a polite gentleman he decides to walk her home under the umbrella AND take care of her...crawly problem. Upon the squashening's close, Tsukasa decides to leave, but RiRi has other plans. The rain turns into a dangerous storm that keeps them both stuck in Anzu's home. Refusing to play into RiRi's attempts, Anzu takes every moment to squash any romantic shenans throughout the night, opting to wear really unflattering jammies and play board games with our boy. After falling asleep together...awkwardly, Tsukasa wakes up to find that only his apartment got flooded from the storm..so, you know. He's gotta stay at Anzu's a little longer.Dangit, RiRi!

Welcome to the Shenans
We're two 30-somethings who have been getting together every Friday to drink and watch anime for a few years now. However, only recently (the start of 2023) did we start releasing a podcast doing exactly that.
We don't hold back on our opinions and that means we might be saying some bad, bad words while we imbibe on some alcoholic beverages. We also can be going over heavy topics so truly, listener discretion is advised!
